What Does It Mean to Show Up Fully?

From building connections in Miami to advocacy in D.C. and an upcoming workshop in Charleston, choosing movement and joy.

Alysa Lui’s Pure Joy at Milan Olympics

Hi Friends,

These past two weeks watching the Olympics reminded me why I love sport. Not just for the medals, but for the resilience behind them.

The grit of the U.S. women’s and men’s hockey teams.

Mikaela Shiffrin continuing to compete at the highest level after profound personal loss.

And the pure joy Alysa Liu brought to the ice, skating with freedom, lightness, and heart.

It wasn’t about perfection. It was about showing up fully. About discipline. About choosing joy anyway.

Movement. Connection. Purpose.

That same energy carried me through Miami- from a meaningful panel on life and career pivots, to the Veronica Beard in-store event supporting Penny’s Flight Foundation, to closing the week with a workshop on resilience and the power of connection, movement, and purpose.

When we move, we shift energy.

When we connect, we build strength.

When we lead with purpose, momentum follows.

Advocacy Update

My planned trip to Washington, DC to advocate for increased federal funding for neurofibromatosis (NF) research was canceled due to the snowstorm.

But advocacy doesn’t stop because a flight does.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Contact your members of Congress and ask them to support $25 million in FY2027 funding for the Neurofibromatosis Research Program under the CDMRP.

  • Share the advocacy message from my Instagram to amplify awareness.

  • If you have a personal connection to a legislator, make the introduction. Stories matter.

Advocacy is heart work. It’s how we turn pain into purpose at a policy level, and how we create more research, more awareness, and more hope.

Continuing the Conversation

Later this week, I’ll be in Charleston for another in-person workshop as we continue building toward the launch of Reimagining Grief in June.

These rooms matter.

These conversations matter.

This community matters.

These gatherings are practical, energizing sessions focused on simple tools to regulate your nervous system, shift your energy, and reconnect with yourself in the middle of real life.

Book News

My book, Reimagining Grief, releases June 16th, and I could not be more excited!

This book is deeply personal- it shares our story, but more importantly, offers a practical, heart-first roadmap for moving through grief, anxiety, and life’s unexpected challenges with intention, connection, and purpose. It’s rooted in the belief so many of you share with me: that we can turn pain into purpose and create meaning even in the hardest chapters.

Thank you for being here, for protecting your energy, spreading light, and choosing to live with a wingspan that reaches far beyond you.
