Hello, September 🦋

Utah, Upcoming Events & New Beginnings: A season of transition, a big month ahead, and Penny’s Flight heading back to school.

September always feels like a reset.

The end of summer. Kids heading back to school. College drop-offs. Quieter houses. New routines and new beginnings.

And even when these transitions are exciting, they can still bring a feeling of loss. I’ve learned that grief isn’t only about losing someone we love. Sometimes it’s just missing what was while making room for what’s next.

We can be grateful for what’s ahead and still miss what we’re leaving behind. Both can be true.

For me, the answer is to keep moving forward not moving on, but moving with it. Staying connected, moving my body, finding purpose and continuing to reach for the light.

UTAH, HERE I COME!

I’m so grateful to be kicking off a very full September in Utah with an in-person Rise & Reimagine Workshop in Holladay, UT on September 8, followed by a book talk at The Alta Club in Salt Lake City on September 9.

From there, Reimagining Grief takes me from Connecticut to Austin, Texas, Clearwater, Florida, Long Island and Philadelphia. I continue to be so grateful for every room, every conversation and every person who shares their story with me along the way. I hope to see you or friends on the road!

PENNY’S FLIGHT: BACK TO SCHOOL 🦋

September also means our Penny’s Flight chapters are back in action! We’ll kick off the school year with our All-Chapter Call, bringing students together to reconnect, share ideas and get energized for the year ahead.

Watching these young people carry Penny’s spirit and our mission into their schools and communities is one of the greatest gifts. Every chapter helps expand her wingspan and reminds me of the power of turning pain into purpose.

As we head into September, I’m reminding myself to embrace the transitions, stay connected, keep moving and keep reaching for the light.

Here’s to everything ahead.

With love and gratitude,
Kate 🦋
