HELLO, AUGUST ☀️🦋
Grief Awareness Month
My favorite month is here.
August has always held a special place in my heart. It’s my birthday month, my mom’s birthday month, and a time spent in one of my favorite places in the world since I was little, surrounded by family, lifelong friends, and so many beautiful memories.
It’s also no coincidence that August is Grief Awareness Month. A reminder that grief and joy can live side by side. It’s a time to practice the Five Actions we talk so much about leaning into connection, celebrating the people we love, staying open to the signs (because I truly see them everywhere), continuing to move our bodies, and turning pain into purpose.
JULY WAS ONE TO REMEMBER 💫
What an incredible month.
Thank you to everyone who welcomed Reimagining Grief into your communities, attended conversations across the country, shared the book with friends, left reviews, and reminded me why these conversations matter.
I’m especially grateful for a beautiful evening with Tory Burch at her Manhasset store, where a portion of sales benefited Penny’s Flight. It was such a meaningful night of connection, generosity, and purpose.

I’ve also loved seeing these conversations continue beyond the book tour through recent podcast appearances on Messy with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Reality Life with Kate Casey, and Judging Meghan. Each conversation approached grief, resilience, and choosing joy from a different perspective, and I’m so grateful to continue reaching new audiences.

AUGUST EVENTS 📚
I’d love to see you this month.
🦋 August 8 – Fishers Island Movie Theater (a full-circle moment speaking where I grew up)
🦋 August 8 – East Hampton Authors Night
🦋 August 13 – Newport, Rhode Island
🦋 August 17 – Watch Hill, Rhode Island

More conversations are continuing to be added throughout the summer, so be sure to check my website for the latest schedule.
THANK YOU ❤️
Whether you’ve read Reimagining Grief, shared it with someone who needs it, attended an event, listened to a podcast, left an Amazon review, or supported Penny’s Flight—thank you.
My hope has always been bigger than a book. It’s to change the conversation around grief and remind people that even after life’s hardest moments, there is still so much life, love, and light waiting for us.
Here’s to celebrating those we love, honoring those we miss, and continuing to spread our wings together.
Happy August. 🦋
